Justice Thomas F. Whelan, Justice of the Supreme Court, has denied the Article 78 legal action which was fighting the validity of the petition to become a village.

Village Petition Hearing: February 22nd at 6.30 p.m., Mastic Beach Fire Department
The public hearing for the Mastic Beach Village Petition, chaired by Supervisor Mark Lesko, will be held at the Mastic Beach Fire Department on Neighborhood Road on Monday, February 22nd at 6.30 p.m.

Focus of the Agenda:
1. Brookhaven Hospital Coordinator of Outreach Services. Carolyn Villegas will describe the free programs that are available at the hospital for all our residents who want to follow a healthy lifestyle.
2. Joseph Prokop, Esq., the Mastic Beach Village Exploratory Committee's municipal attorney , will report on the January 7 th presentation of the petition to Brookhaven Supervisor Mark Lesko, the upcoming February 22nd Public Hearing on the petition (Mastic Beach Fire Department, 6:30pm), and the remaining steps required to create The Village of Mastic Beach .
3. The Fundraising Committee will present upcoming activities.
4. The Public Relations Committee will report on its plans and need for volunteers.
5. The Community Resource Committee will report on its plans and need for volunteers.
All residents are cordially invited to this very important meeting that will affect the future of our community. All members are encouraged to bring a guest or guests.
Seasonal refreshments will be served.

1. The Fundraising and Beautification Committee reports on the 2009 Community Leadership Dinner/Dance. Tickets will be available for purchase to the annual dinner/dance to be held on Sunday, September 13th, at 5 pm at Ladakins Restaurant.
2. The 2009 Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday,October 17th at Neighborhood Square (at the gazebo by the Nutrition Center).
3. The Mastic Beach Village Exploratory Committee will receive a report from the Signature Petition Subcommittee. Joseph Prokop, the committees municipal attorney, will be present to provide information and to answer questions on the next steps in the incorporation process.
4. The Signature Petition will be available for signing by all residents in attendance. Village lawn signs, t-shirts, and baseball caps also will be available for purchase.

2. Brookhaven Town Councilman Keith Romaine answers questions of concern to the residents of Mastic Beach.
3. Tickets will be available for purchase to the 2009 Community Leadership Dinner/Dance
Honoring Wm. Floyd Board President Bob Vecchio and Father Todd Saccoccia of St. Jude's Church, to be held on Sunday, September 13th, at 5 pm at Ladakins Restaurant.
4. The PCCA announces their proud sponsorship as a registered supporter of The 3/50 Project to encourage the patronage of local businesses and the revitalization of our mainstreets.
All residents are cordially invited to this very important meeting that will affect the future of our community.
