Meeting: Monday May 3rd at 7 p.m. at the Fire Department, Mastic Beach
On the Agenda:
1. William Floyd School Budget Presentation will be made by the District Superintendent and/or a Member of the Board of Education.
2. Certificates will be presented to members and volunteers who participated in the Great Brookhaven Cleanup on April 17th. For our third year, we cleaned up Neighborhood Road from the firehouse east to Brushwood Drive. Volunteers may sign up for the Great Brookhaven Plant-in on May 15th when we plant flowers in the new planters on Neighborhood Road and in our other adopted areas from the firehouse to Brushwood. Members may also sign up for the Spring Floral Arranging Class.
3. The Mastic Beach Village Exploratory Committee's guest speaker will be municipal attorney Joe Prokop who will give an update on the status of the Article 78 lawsuit being filed against Brookhaven Supervisor Lesko's approval of the Village petition. He will tell us what we can expect and what we will be able to do to help our own cause.
4. We will conclude with a Mothers Day Celebration and a Special Gift for the Moms in attendance.
All residents are cordially invited to this very important meeting that will affect the future of our community. Bring a guest or guests! Refreshments will be served.

1. Brookhaven Hospital Coordinator of Outreach Services. Carolyn Villegas will describe the free programs that are available at the hospital for all our residents who want to follow a healthy lifestyle.
2. Joseph Prokop, Esq., the Mastic Beach Village Exploratory Committee's municipal attorney , will report on the January 7 th presentation of the petition to Brookhaven Supervisor Mark Lesko, the upcoming February 22nd Public Hearing on the petition (Mastic Beach Fire Department, 6:30pm), and the remaining steps required to create The Village of Mastic Beach .
3. The Fundraising Committee will present upcoming activities.
4. The Public Relations Committee will report on its plans and need for volunteers.
5. The Community Resource Committee will report on its plans and need for volunteers.

2. The 2009 Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday,October 17th at Neighborhood Square (at the gazebo by the Nutrition Center).
3. The Mastic Beach Village Exploratory Committee will receive a report from the Signature Petition Subcommittee. Joseph Prokop, the committees municipal attorney, will be present to provide information and to answer questions on the next steps in the incorporation process.

Village Petition begins! Next meeting August 7th!
Next meeting: Monday, August 3, 2009, 7pm-9pm at Mastic Beach Fire Department. Everyone welcome! Village Petition Kickoff!! The census has been completed!
1. Be the among the first to sign the petition to take back our town! The Mastic Beach Village Exploratory Committee celebrates the successful completion of the Census and the beginning of the signature Petition drive with an old-fashioned ice cream social.

Honoring Wm. Floyd Board President Bob Vecchio and Father Todd Saccoccia of St. Jude's Church, to be held on Sunday, September 13th, at 5 pm at Ladakins Restaurant.
4. The PCCA announces their proud sponsorship as a registered supporter of The 3/50 Project to encourage the patronage of local businesses and the revitalization of our mainstreets.
All residents are cordially invited to this very important meeting that will affect the future of our community.

The Village census is underway! This is a required part of the process to incorporate Mastic Beach as a Village. To volunteer or to find out more, go to the Volunteer page on the website.

The Pattersquash Creek Civic Association will hold its general membership meeting on Monday, February 2nd, at 7:00 pm at the Mastic Beach Fire Department on Neighborhood Road.
